We are guessing that the general public is not aware of how doomed black dogs are when they are brought to a pound because black dogs, particularly black labs or lab mixes, are euthanized at a horrifying rate at many pounds & shelters because people pass them up for lighter colored dogs. If you are thinking about adopting a dog please don't overlook black dogs because they are just as loving & wonderful as lighter colored dogs!

This rescue organization was formed because we see a great need for a rescue network in northeast Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and western/central/southern Illinois.
MARR receives dogs from private shelters, Humane Societies, animal control facilities, and other organizations where a dog was abandoned. In most cases we adopt from the shelters as a "last resort" adoptor, giving the shelter maximum time to adopt the dog through their system

Welcome to Rotts Across Texas Rottweiler Rescue. Our organization was founded in December of 2002, and though we are a new group, our volunteers bring many years of experience in the breed and in rescue to the table. Our rescue organization exists to both find new families for homeless Rottweilers in Texas and educate existing Rottweiler owners about responsible pet ownership. Currently our efforts are localized in the East Texas area, but as our base of experienced, knowledgeable volunteers and foster parents grows so will our coverage area.

North East Rottweiler Rescue & Referral, Inc. was established by Dale Green Young, Denise Muccioli and MaryAnn Grim in February 1998. Dale and Denise had been receiving many phone calls from shelters and Rottweiler owners who were looking to find good homes for unwanted Rottweilers. Dale and Denise realized there were very few people in New England willing to go into shelters to evaluate Rottweilers for placement. The large volume of phone calls demonstrated a tremendous need for an organized Rottweiler Rescue in the Northeast.

Dale and Denise believed the integrity of the Rottweiler breed, as well as the safety of both the public and Rottweilers depends on responsible ownership. Seeking avenues to educate Rottweiler owners by referral, Dale and Denise discovered very few resources existed for educating and training an owner who had a problem Rottweiler. Instead of finding help they needed, many frustrated and overwhelmed Rottweiler owners were abandoning their dogs in shelters. Dale and Denise, with MaryAnn's help created the foundation upon which NERR&R was built. NERR&R's foundation goal was and continues to be filling this educational and rescue void.

North Carolina Rottweiler Rescue is the only non-profit Rottweiler Rescue Organization based out of Raleigh, NC that has been rescuing Rottweiler dogs since 1998. NCRR is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to saving the lives of homeless Rottweilers and placing them in qualified homes. NCRR does not have a shelter and depends on the generosity of the people who offer to foster dogs in their homes. NCRR volunteers do not receive pay for their help and all money raised by fund-raisers, donations and adoptions go directly to benefit NCRR rescue companion pets.

WeCare Rottweiler Rescue, Inc. has no shelter and no office, yet we are available through our web site and by phone. We are devoted to saving Rottweilers. Our mission is to provide charitable and educational services in the form of quality shelter and care of these precious Rottweilers who have been abused, neglected, abandoned or surrendered. We bring these rescue Rottweilers into our home, we try to find new and permanent homes for them. Our Rottweilers we save come from dog control shelters, humane societies and relinquish families. Most of them would be euthanized without our intervention.

Phoenix Area Rottweiler Rescue (PARR) is a local non-profit rescue group dedicated to finding loving, permanent homes for rottweilers that have been abused, neglected or abandoned. Many Rottweilers for one reason or other lose their homes. Some end up in shelters awaiting the death sentence, others wander frightened and alone. There is also a disturbing number of Rottweilers who are dreadfully mistreated and must be rescued from their current owner or caretaker.

Saving Shelter Pets strives to eliminate euthanasia as a method of population control for homeless companion animals, by providing no-kill alternative solutions and proactively addressing the problem of pet overpopulation.

Our Activities:

* Saving lives of shelter animals in danger of euthanization, by moving them to safe, no-kill rescues
* Providing an online discussion forum for supporters to communicate information about animal rescues and similar topics
* Providing access to proactive pet population control methods, i.e. spay/neuter programs
* Promoting educational opportunities to increase awareness of the problems and consequences associated with pet overpopulation, pet abandonment in shelters, and inhumane treatment of pets.
* Supporting legislation to prohibit the use of inhumane euthanization methods (suffocation in carbon monoxide gas chamber, drowning, shooting, etc.)

Southern States Rescued Rottweilers is an organization devoted to helping Rottweilers in the Southern States. We currently cover 11 states throughout the South: Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Northern Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and the Virginia Peninsula.
